We are a micro-school! Apogee Fredericksburg is a Private Education and Leadership Academy designed to empower students with real-world skills that matter. We don't have desks, homework, grade levels, or grades. We focus on skill acquisition in areas that matter. We encourage our students to find their passions and run with them while still acquiring the total package of valuable life and academic skills needed to be successful in all facets of life, from health & happiness to financial literacy.
We are a K-12 Academy. We are currently accepting applications for ages 5-16. We plan for every student who starts with us to graduate from Apogee.
We are not related to a specific denomination and don't require a declaration of faith. With that said, Apogee Fredericksburg follows and educates from a Christian worldview. We pray and discuss what He has done and continues to do for us. But we are open to any family comfortable with that integration of faith that agrees to follow the Apogee Code of Honor, Integrity, Politeness, Bravery, Honesty, Compassion, and Loyalty.
We primarily use The Good & The Beautiful curriculum for traditional academics, and supplement with project-based learning programs from Apogee Strong, as well as several other programs like The Patriot Academy, Tuttle Twins, Christian Halls, Turning Point, Texas Wildlife Foundation, and much more. With unlimited access to all available training programs and newer AI programs coming in the near future, we can stay on the cutting edge of what's available while remaining true to classical educational approaches.
BOTH! Parents are and will always be the primary educators. We celebrate homeschooling and want to support our community of homeschoolers, and we understand that every family will have a different set of needs.
We offer flexible enrollment options, including 1 day, 2 days, up to full time.
At Apogee Fredericksburg, Project-Based Learning means students learn by doing. Instead of memorizing facts for a test, our young leaders dive into meaningful, hands-on projects that connect to real life. Whether launching a business, building a simple machine, or solving a real-world challenge, students learn core academic skills while developing creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
At Apogee Fredericksburg, the Socratic Method is how we teach students how to think, not what to think. Instead of lectures and easy answers, we ask big questions that spark curiosity and conversation. Coaches don't give the answers—they challenge students to listen closely, speak clearly, and defend their ideas with evidence. Through respectful dialogue and deep inquiry, our learners develop critical thinking, communication skills, and the confidence to seek truth and lead with wisdom.
We have an internal system that tracks progress and levels of proficiency in various areas of study. We focus on mastery of skills, not just checking the box. As they continue to show more growth, they level up. If there is a clear gap from where they are to where they could be, we show them where the gaps are and encourage them to level up. Additionally, parents are required to sign off on academic and project goals for each session, and those goals dictate how the student's time is allocated. Now take that philosophy and apply it to all of the skills we need and want in life.
Our young men and women are grouped by developmental levels, taking everything into account, such as communication skills, academic skills, emotional intelligence, etc., to ensure they are in the best group to maximize the growth of both the individual and the group.
Developmental Levels and Approximate Ages:
Basecamp: 3-5
Pathfinders: 5-8
Trailblazers: 8-11
Ascent: 12-14
Summit: 14+
First, the student, family, and coaches work together to determine whether college is the right fit based on the student’s long-term goals. If college is necessary for their chosen path, we offer a variety of flexible and purposeful options. Through our partnership with Christian Halls International, students can access accredited university courses—and even complete entire degree plans—while still at Apogee. Most students on this track aim to earn an associate degree, then transfer to a university as adult learners. This approach not only dramatically increases acceptance rates but also significantly improves graduation outcomes compared to the traditional college route.
Coach Chris founded Apogee Fredericksburg with his wife Laura with one simple goal: to give his sons the best education possible with an optimal blend of intentional focus on faith, academics, critical thinking, healthy living, finance skills, communication skills, and mindset.
His unique background in business school, entrepreneurship, defense industry project management, professional sports, strength and conditioning, nutrition coaching, youth athletics coaching, faith, and as a father has aligned to provide the perfect skill set to lead our Academy, students, and staff.

Dr. Laura founded Apogee Fredericksburg with her husband, Chris. Laura earned her bachelor's at UT Austin and Doctorate at UT Health & Science Center before going on to start her own PT practice.
She brings a passion for learning and educating. While searching for the best practices to educate her two sons, she found herself on a mission to share what she has learned with the community to impact generations to come.

“It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to
have tried to succeed.”
